Brady Named Softball Assistant of Operations

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke softball program added another member to its staff on Wednesday, as head coach Marissa Young announced the addition of Kyle Brady as the Blue Devils' new assistant of operations. Brady comes to Durham after spending the last six years in softball and baseball player development with an emphasis on the integration of technology to the development process.

“We had the pleasure of working with Kyle through VeloLab last year,” Young said. “Our players benefitted from the program and the concepts Kyle presented. It was evident to me Kyle's wealth of knowledge and knack for technology and data analysis. I am so thrilled to have such a brilliant mind join our staff to enrich our player training and development in unprecedented ways.”

Prior to joining the Duke staff, Kyle worked as an owner and instructor of multiple softball training companies, most notably The VeloLab, which is utilized by softball and baseball programs nationwide. In addition, Brady developed state-of-the-art training programs for pitchers and overhand throwers, placing dozens of players in collegiate softball programs over the last five years. He has also worked as a performance and development consultant for multiple colleges and universities across the country.

“I am very grateful and humbled to join the Duke softball program,” Brady said. “Coach Young has put together an amazing staff and built a solid foundation for this young program. I'm excited to help execute the vision of excellence that she has laid out for the future of this team. I'd like to thank coach Young, the staff and the entire team for putting their trust in me and I look forward to being a part of the continued development of Duke softball.”

Before entering the softball world, Brady pitched collegiately at Wingate University before pitching professionally for three seasons in the Frontier League and American Association.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Brady graduated from the University of Dayton in 2009 with his degree in philosophy.
