Parking & Traffic Alert: Saturday, September 22

DURHAM, NC – Guests traveling to the Duke University West Campus on Saturday, September 22nd should be aware of the following parking and traffic alerts. In addition to the Duke Football game vs. North Carolina Central University at 3:30 PM on Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium, Duke Women's Lacrosse Fall Weekend will feature Duke vs. Davidson at 11:00 AM, Duke vs. High Point at 12:15 PM, and Davidson vs. High Point at 1:30 PM at Cohan Fields and the Duke Alumni Association will be hosting Homecoming 2018. Please review the information below and leave extra time in your travels to avoid delays.

HOMECOMING PARKING INFORMATION

Football Game Day Parking Operations in Effect for Homecoming – Alumni and guests attending Homecoming Weekend 2018 events on Saturday can find general public parking on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Football Game Day General Public Parking Lots. The Chemistry Lot on Circuit Drive and accessible parking in the Blue Zone will open at 7:00 AM (see Football Parking Information below for more details).  The remaining Football Game Day General Public Parking Lots open at 11:30 AM.  PARKING IS FREE OF CHARGE.  Please review the General Public Parking Lots Map for more information.

DUKE WOMEN'S LACROSSE PARKING INFORMATION

General Public Parking for Women's Lacrosse – Guests attending the Women's Lacrosse Fall Weekend games can find general public parking on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Football Game Day General Public Parking Lots. The Jogging Trail Lot on NC 751/Cameron Blvd., the Chemistry Lot on Circuit Drive opens at 7:00 AM and Large Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive and Research Drive Garage (RDG) on Research Drive (Purple Zone) open at 11:30 AM. PARKING IS FREE OF CHARGE.

General Public Parking for Guests with Disabilities for Women's Lacrosse – Guests with disabilities attending the Women's Lacrosse Fall Weekend can find accessible parking in the Whitford Lot from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. After 11:30 AM, accessible parking can be found in the Blue Zone B-2 and B-4 Lots on Wannamaker Drive off of Duke University Road with ADA lift-equipped van service available to assist guests to Cohan Fields. PARKING IS FREE OF CHARGE.

DUKE FOOTBALL TRAFFIC ALERTS

Traffic Checkpoints – For all Duke Football home games, checkpoints are set-up on the roads surrounding campus to keep only necessary traffic on the interior roads of campus.  Checkpoints will become active at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 22nd.  All Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders must have their permits hanging from their rearview mirror as they approach for access at these checkpoints and their designated lots.

Checkpoints are located at the following intersections:

• NC 751/Cameron Blvd. and Science Drive
• NC 751/Cameron Blvd. and Duke University Road
• Duke University Road and Chapel Drive
• Duke University Road and Towerview Road

Duke University Road Closure – For all Duke Football home games, Duke University Road is closed to all traffic except Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders between Anderson Street and NC 751/Cameron Blvd.  On Saturday, September 22nd, the closure will begin at 11:30 AM and re-open to all traffic at 3:30 PM.  Duke University Road will close again from approximately 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Towerview Road Closure from Card Gym Lot to Towerview Roundabout – Due to high pedestrian traffic, Towerview Road will be closed from the entrance of the Card Gym Lot to the roundabout at Wannamaker Drive.  The closure will begin at 11:30 AM and end at 8:00 PM.

No Thru Traffic from Frank Bassett Drive to Grounds Lot – With Blue Devil Drive and Coca-Cola Fan Zone festivities outside the Powers Gate of Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium, there is no thru traffic from Frank Bassett Drive to the Grounds Lot.  All Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders for the Grounds Lot must enter and exit the lot from NC 751/Cameron Blvd.

Iron Duke Parking in Science Drive Garage Entry/Exit from NC 751/Cameron Blvd. – All Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders for Science Drive Garage (SDG and STAFF) must enter and exit the garage from NC 751/Cameron Blvd.

FOOTBALL PARKING INFORMATION

Iron Duke Parking – All Iron Duke Football Parking Lots will open at 6:00 AM on Saturday, September 22nd. Iron Duke Football Parking Permits must be displayed for access to the designated lot. For

FREE General Public Parking – All regular-sized vehicles park FREE OF CHARGE in our General Public Football Game Day Parking Lots. Each lot has been assigned to a color-coded zone to help guests identify their game day parking location.

The early General Public Park & Walk Lots open at 7:00 AM on Saturday, September 22nd – the Jogging Trail Lot on NC 751/Cameron Blvd. (Pink Zone) and Chemistry Lot on Circuit Drive (Purple Zone).  PARKING IS FREE OF CHARGE. 

The remaining General Public Park & Walk Lots open at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 22nd – Large Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive and Research Drive Garage (RDG) on Research Drive (Purple Zone) and Campus & Anderson Lot on Anderson Street (Yellow Zone). PARKING IS FREE OF CHARGE.

The General Public Courtesy Shuttle Lots (Gray Zone) at the GC and H Lots on Yearby Avenue open at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 22nd.  PARKING IS FREE OF CHARGE. Courtesy shuttles run every 15 – 20 minutes from these lots to the Duke Chapel.  All courtesy shuttles are lift-equipped to assist guests with disabilities.

General Public Accessible Parking – Accessible parking is located in the Blue Zone B-2 and B-4 Lots on Wannamaker Drive off of Duke University Road.  Blue Zone B-2 and B-4 Lots will open at 6:00 AM.  ADA lift-equipped van service will begin at 11:30 AM.  PARKING IS FREE OF CHARGE.  An accessible drop-off/pick-up point is available outside the Wilson Gate of Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium in the Blue Zone B-5 Lot off of Wannamaker Drive.  After dropping off guests, vehicles should proceed to the B-2 or B-4 Lots for game day parking. 

RV/OV Parking – is located in the Small Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive.  The RV/OV Lot will be open on Friday, September 21st for early parking from 6:00 – 9:00 PM and on Saturday, September 22nd at 7:00 AM.  There is a $50 charge to park – CASH ONLY at the lot entrance. RV/OV permits can also be purchased in advance at www.goduke.com/tickets. All vehicles must be removed by Sunday, September 23rd at Noon (12:00 PM).

Bus Parking – Buses that drop-off/pick-up guests and park for the game (i.e. no tailgating, etc.) will park in the Duke University Road 2 Lot free of charge. Buses that host group tailgates, etc. will be considered Recreational/Oversized Vehicles (RV/OVs) and required to purchase an RV/OV permit for the Small Circuit Lot. Bus and RV/OV Permits can be obtained in advance of game day at www.goduke.com/tickets. A drop-off/pick-up point for all buses is available at the roundabout on Towerview Road. Rideshare/Taxi Information – The designated drop-off/pick-up location for all taxis, hotel shuttles, and rideshare services is located at the Science Drive Visitors Lot. The drop-off/pick-up point must be accessed off of NC 751/Cameron Blvd. due to game day traffic restrictions. Services attempting to drop-off/pick-up at other locations near the stadium will be denied access and directed to this location. There is no game day parking in this location – 20-minute drop-off/pick-up zone only.
