DURHAM, N.C. – Less than two weeks prior to opening preseason practice, four Duke women's soccer incoming freshmen –
Emma Carlson,
Olivia Erlbeck,
Brooke Heinsohn and
Ella Stevens – have been selected to the TeamSnap All-America squad, which was released by TopDrawerSoccer.
Both Stevens and Carlson were selected to the Spring All-America team, while Erlbeck to the Winter All-America squad and Heinsohn to the Fall All-America team.
A product of Lilburn, Ga., Carlson registered 21 goals and 13 assists on her way to earning All-Region First Team honors for the fourth straight year. The midfielder was also the Gwinnett Daily Post Co-Girls Player of the Year in 2016 along with Stevens. Carlson was a NSCAA All-America and concluded her stellar high school career with 108 goals, while guiding Parkview to a 68-16 record.
A product of San Diego, Calif., Erlbeck totaled 14 goals and serviced up a team-best 18 assists in her final year at Cathedral Catholic. She received CIF-San Diego Section First Team honors and was a two-time Western League Player of the Year. Erlbeck led Cathedral Catholic to a 24-3-4 record as a senior and finished her career with 51 goals and 68 assists.
One of the top goalkeepers in the nation, Heinsohn allowed only two goals in 11 matches as a senior. The Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year in 2015 registered shutouts in all three playoff matches as Rivers School won the Class B title and finished ranked No. 1 in the TopDrawerSoccer Prep Top 10. Heinsohn, who hails from Norfolk, Mass., continues to train with the U-20 and U-18 Women's National Teams.
Stevens, a native of Grayson, Ga., was the 2015-16 Gatorade National Player of the Year, after totaling 25 goals and 11 assists for Grayson H.S. She helped lead her squad to a 13-4 overall record as a senior. Stevens was a member of the U.S. Under-20 National Team during its World Cup qualifying and over her high school career totaled 74 goals and 89 assists.
