Duke Earns No. 4 Seed; Will Play No. 1 Notre Dame

DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke University men's lacrosse team has earned the No. 4 seed in the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship and will play top seed Notre Dame in the opening semifinal April 24 on ESPNU.

The No. 6 Blue Devils and top-ranked Fighting Irish will face off at 5:30 p.m., at PPL Park just outside of Philadelphia. Eamon McAnaney and Quint Kessenich will call the action, while Paul Carcaterra will be reporting from the sideline for ESPNU.

Duke (10-4, 1-3 ACC) grabbed the final spot in the ACC Championship with a 15-8 win over Virginia to finish the ACC regular season with a 1-3 mark against conference foes. North Carolina and Syracuse will face each other as the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively, in the 8 p.m. game.

The winners of the two semifinal games will meet in the ACC Championship game on Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m., which will be broadcast on ESPNU/WatchESPN.

Notre Dame defeated Duke 15-10 in the regular season. The Irish used a 4-1 first-quarter lead and rode that to the triumph at Koskinen Stadium.

The Blue Devils are led on offense by junior midfielder Myles Jones. The Huntington, N.Y., native has 35 goals and 30 assists for 65 points, while rookie attackman Justin Guterding has a team-best 41 goals and 56 points overall. Deemer Class has 32 goals and 15 assists to bolster the midfield.

Jack and Kyle Rowe anchor Duke's faceoff game. Jack is wining 54 percent of his draws (167-of-331) and has 106 ground balls, while Kyle has stepped up lately and owns a .645 win percentage (60-of-93). In the past two games, Kyle has won 32-of-38 faceoffs (.842).  Danny Fowler is 2-2 in his four starts and has a 11.80 goals against average and a .497 save percentage overall.

 Notre Dame (9-1), which defeated No. 2 North Carolina in the ACC regular season finale, is the first team to finish league play undefeated since Duke went 3-0 in 2011. Matt Kavanagh headlines the Notre Dame offense with 21 goals and 22 assists, while Mikey Wynne is the top goal scorer with 30 tallies. Shane Doss anchors the defense with an 8.57 goals against average and a .562 save percentage.
