Greenwell Excited to Head Back to Durham

DURHAM, N.C.-- Time really does fly when you're having fun. I feel like it was just yesterday I was a freshman, but now I'm heading back to Duke soon as a SENIOR. Crazy… but I'm ready for it.  There have been highs and lows, but overall it's been a fun ride and I'm ready to finish my senior year on top.  With two more years of eligibility, there's still much more to accomplish during my time at Duke.

It's been a dream of mine to graduate with a Duke degree, and in just two more semesters, I'll be graduating with a degree from one of the best colleges in the country!  I'm truly blessed and Duke has been a huge part of that.

I finished the semester strong and headed back to Kentucky to spend a few weeks at home to refresh for a little summer break.  Per usual, I started my time at home with a bang by going to the one and only, Kentucky Derby.  Though I didn't pick the winning horse, I still had a great time with some good friends decked out in my derby dress and big hat. Besides the derby, my time at home has mainly been spent catching up with friends and hanging at home with my family and our cutest little pup, Boomer. I'm heading back to Durham on Sunday, but before that I plan on attending the most anticipated event of the summer…my little sister Emma's hip hop dance production, and I cannot wait! She's been going to hip-hop dance class all year and she'll finally be putting her moves on display this Saturday night. Knowing her, it will be nothing short of epic.

After that, it's off to Durham for the rest of the summer to get a head start on workouts and also do an internship.  I'm excited to be working for Intrepid Marketing Group this summer where I'll be interning in the sports marketing department!  I've been interested in marketing lately so this should be a great learning experience.

Other than that I'll be spending most of my time in the gym preparing for next season.  After the way last season went, I am definitely more motivated than ever, and I know the team is too!  For change to happen, it's going to take hard work and sacrifices, and we're willing to work harder than ever to get the results we want. We don't start mandatory workouts until July, but I know many of my teammates will be back before then getting a head start!

It's definitely been a good break back home in Kentucky, but now I'm refreshed and ready to get back to work at Duke!
