Barreca and Kim Tabbed to NCAA All-Tournament Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Following the conclusion of the 2015 NCAA Championship  weekend, Blue Devil seniors Hannah Barreca and Amanda Kim were named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. The defensive duo represented two of 11 players from the four national semifinalist teams selected to the squad.

Barreca garnered NCAA All-Tournament Team recognition for the second time in her career after also being recognized during Duke's run to the title match in 2013. The Oceanport, N.J., native was a second team All-ACC pick this fall with two goals and two assists in 21 contests. Barreca also tallied one defensive save and was a member of a back line that ranked among the national leaders throughout the season in goals against average, limiting opponents to just 1.48 goals per game.

Kim collected NCAA All-Tournament Team honors after joining Barreca on the All-ACC second team this season. The back from Richmond, Va., served as one of the Blue Devils' captains this fall and has been a mainstay in the Duke back field throughout her career. She notched a career-high six assists this fall and added two goals – including the game winner against Virginia in the NCAA quarterfinals. Kim was also an integral part of the team's attack and defensive penalty corner units in her final year.

Joining Barreca and Kim on the 2015 NCAA All-Tournament Team were goalkeeper Jess Jecko and midfielders Alyssa Manley, Alma Fenne and Zoe Wilson of the national championship Syracuse squad, as well as midfielder Nina Notman, forward Malin Evert and back Julia Young from North Carolina and midfielders Roision Upton and Karlie Heistand from Connecticut.

With Barreca and Kim's leadership, the Blue Devils reached the NCAA semifinals for the sixth time in program history and the second time in the last three seasons. The squad rounded out the season with an overall record of 14-7 and was ranked sixth in the final National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) national poll.
