Duke to Play Wake Forest Tuesday in ACC Tourney

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke secured the No. 7 in the 2016 ACC Tournament and will face 10th-seeded Wake Forest at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 24 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

The Blue Devils (33-21) return to the ACC Tournament for the second time in three years, posting a 14-15 record in conference play with series victories over Georgia Tech, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Florida State and Pitt. Duke began the ACC slate 1-7 before registering a 13-8 mark over the final 22 conference games to clinch a spot in the conference postseason tournament.

The winner of Tuesday's first-round game between Duke and Wake Forest will join Pool B. No. 2 seed Louisville (46-10, 22-8) leads Pool B along with No. 3 Virginia (36-18, 19-11) and No. 6 Clemson (38-18, 16-14).

No. 8 Boston College (31-19, 13-15) and No. 9 Georgia Tech (35-20, 13-16) take the field in the second first-round game Tuesday at 3 p.m. The winner joins Pool A, headlined by No. 1 Miami (43-10, 21-7) along with fourth-seeded Florida State (34-19, 16-10) and fifth-seeded NC State (34-18, 15-13).

Under the pool-play format, each team will play one game against each of the other three opponents in its pool Wednesday through Saturday (May 25-28). The two teams with the best records within their respective pools will advance to the title game on Sunday, May 29, with the winner earning the ACC's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Game times Wednesday through Saturday are set for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday's championship game will begin at noon.

Complete pairings, dates and game times for the 2016 ACC Baseball Championship will be released Sunday, May 21.

Regional Sports Networks from across the conference footprint and across the nation will carry all 14 games on Tuesday through Saturday. Sunday's noon championship game will televised nationally by ESPN2. All games will also be available on ESPN3.

In addition, the games on Tuesday through Saturday will be broadcast via satellite radio on Sirius 106/XM 193, while Sunday's championship will be on SiriusXM College Sports National Channel 84.
