Marcus Stroman started Game 2 of the American League Division Series for the Toronto Blue Jays vs. the Texas Rangers on Friday afternoon.

Stroman was drafted with the 22nd overall pick by Toronto in the 2012 MLB Draft. Stroman currently holds a 4-0 record with a 1.67 ERA in his second season with the Blue Jays. He made an improbable return to Toronto in September after suffering a torn ACL during Spring Training. Stroman is 15-6 overall with a 3.31 career ERA as a Blue Jay.
Duke's first-ever first round pick, Stroman went 15-13 in 48 appearances, including 27 starts, as a Blue Devil. Stroman ranks fourth on Duke's all-time strikeouts list with 290 career strikeouts, while his 3.27 career ERA is the third-lowest in school history in the aluminum bat era (since 1974) and the seventh-lowest all-time. He had nine career double-digit strikeout games, two career complete games and added seven saves during his time in Durham. Stroman was among the top players in the country during his junior season, earning All-America honors from Louisville Slugger, Perfect Game USA, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Baseball America. Stroman led all NCAA pitchers in strikeouts with 136 and finished second in strikeouts per nine innings (12.49) during his final season at Duke.
