Blue Devils Welcome Four Nationally Ranked Teams for Duke Nike Classic...
    Some of the best Division I women's soccer teams will gather in Durham, N.C., this weekend as the 16th-ranked Blue Devils will host the Duke Nike Classic Friday, Sept. 4 and Sunday, Sept. 6 at Koskinen Stadium.  
   Seeing action will be third-ranked North Carolina (4-0), 25th-ranked California (2-1), 16th-ranked Duke (3-0-1) and 15th-ranked Southern California (2-1).  The classic kicks off Friday, Sept. 4 with North Carolina against California at 5:00 p.m., followed by Southern California at Duke at 7:30 p.m.  The classic will close Sunday, Sept. 6 with North Carolina up against USC at 11:00 a.m., along with Duke hosting California at 1:30 p.m.
   All four matches will be aired live on ESPN3 with Ryan Craig (PXP), Erin Koballa (Color - Friday), Maddy Haller (Color - Sunday) and Rebecca Fiorentino (Sideline) calling the action.  
   
In the Rankings...          
   Duke is currently ranked 16th in the Soccer America, 18th in the NSCAA and 24th in the TopDrawerSoccer.com ledgers.  Southern California is ranked 15th in the NSCAA, 18th in the Soccer America and 20th in the TopDrawerSoccer.com polls.  California is listed 16th in the TopDrawerSoccer.com and 25th in the Soccer America polls.  North Carolina is ranked third in the Soccer America, while being ranked fourth in the NSCAA and TopDrawerSoccer.com polls.

A Look at Southern California...
   Southern California enters the weekend with a 2-1 overall record with the lone loss coming at the hands of previous No. 1 ranked Florida State (1-0).  Mckenzie Taylor, Sydney Johnson and Hailey Hite each have scored one goal on the season.

The Series with Southern California...                              
   Duke and Southern California will face each other for the third time in school history.  The series is knotted, 1-1, with the last meeting coming Aug. 31, 2012 on the road.  USC won the first contest with a 2-0 win Sept. 24, 1999 in Durham.

A Look at California...
   California enters the Duke Nike Classic with a 2-1 record, after totaling wins over Hawaii and San Diego State.  The only loss was in the season opener to 19th-ranked BYU, 2-0.  
   Arielle Ship and Celeste Boureille lead the Bears with three goals and two goals, respectively, on the season.

The Series with California...             
   Duke and California will meet for the fourth time in school history.  The Blue Devils have totaled a 3-0 record in the series, but this will be the first meeting at home in Durham.
   Sunday's match will mark the first time since 2010 the two squads have played.  In three games, Duke has outscored California, 7-3.

Duke Classic Recent History...
   Since the 2007 campaign, the Blue Devils have posted an 11-2-3 record and outscored their opponents by a 44-17 ledger.  

Proctor Earns Honors...           
    Duke goalkeeper EJ Proctor received a couple of honors this week as the sophomore earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week and was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week.
   Proctor collected her first two career shutouts this past week against two nationally ranked opponents.  In the first match Friday, Proctor posted a career-high 10 saves at fourth-ranked Penn State on her way to notching her first collegiate shutout as the match went into double-overtime and finished in a 0-0 draw.  She faced 21 Nittany Lion shots and stepped up big time to help the Blue Devils finish with the tie in front of over 4,000 fans.  
   In Sunday's finale against 25th-ranked William & Mary, Proctor totaled three saves over 90 minutes as the Blue Devils notched a 2-0 victory.  It was her second straight shutout and now owns a 0.00 goals-against average in 298:44 minutes.  Her two shutouts ranks tied first in the ACC statistics.

Tough Duke Nike Classic...
   All four teams competing in the 2015 Duke Nike Classic are ranked -- third-ranked North Carolina (4-0), 25th-ranked California (2-1), 16th-ranked Duke (3-0-1) and 15th-ranked Southern California (2-1).
   The four teams have allowed only four overall goals to open the regular season.

Shutout Streak...
   Duke has opened the season with four straight shutouts (380 minutes) for the first time since 1997.  It marks the second-longest shutout streak since 2011, when the Blue Devils featured a 558:16 streak.
   The longest shutout streak under the direction of head coach Robbie Church is seven during the 2004 campaign.

In the NCAA Stats...
   Goalkeeper EJ Proctor owns a 0.00 goals against average along with four shutouts, which ranks tied first nationally.  Taylor Racioppi ranks tied first nationally with three game-winning goals and 22nd in goals per game (1.0). Racioppi also ranks 10th in goals (4) and 14th in points (9).

Noting Duke...
   •  The Blue Devils are in a stretch where they will play four straight ranked opponents.
   •  Duke enters Friday's match at home with a 29-7-7 record at Koskinen Stadium dating back to the 2011 season.  
   •  Sophomore Casey Martinez registered her first collegiate goal against Fresno State, when she came off the bench.  
   •  The Blue Devils have brought in the No. 2 recruiting class nationally in 2014 and the No. 6 class in 2015.  
   •  Rebecca Quinn took the 2015 spring semester off from school to train with the Canada National Team.  She ended up playing with the Canada Pan American Games team over the summer in her home country of Canada.
   •  Junior Krysia Sikora trained with the Poland National Team during the summer of 2015.  She traveled to Hungary for the Balaton Cup as the team went 1-1 in competition.
   •  Duke features tri-captains in 2015 with Christina Gibbons, Danielle Duhl and Kara Wilson leading the Blue Devils.  It was voted on by the team members.
